As the grey skies parted across the Yarra Valley earlier this week we knew we were amid one of the greatest parts of the season—budburst was here! Our little woolly buds had finally transformed, unravelling their tiny crumpled leaves to reach up to the sky.
The Yarra Valley is reborn at this time of year, and there is no better way to pay homage to it than the Yarra Valley Wine Show. As one of the region’s premier wine events it is an opportunity to celebrate all that is great about wine in this region.
Highly skilled judges stroll the rows of world class wines and put each of them to the test with hawk like precision. As you can imagine, this is a moment of anticipation and suspense for many Yarra Valley winemakers. Fortunately, the hard work put in by the team at Warramunda Estate paid off with our 2015 Syrah taking home a gold medal, and the 2016 Viognier picking up a bronze!
Needless to say, we are pleased with the start of this season and are looking forward to what the future holds as we prepare for vintage 2018.
