Liv Zak Pinot Rosé 2017
96 Points - James Halliday Wine Companion 2020
This is a fresh summer wine, perfect for outdoor dining and celebrating the best tastes of the season with friends and family.
Lifted summer fruits of strawberry and watermelon make this an enticing wine on the nose.
Subtle undertones of musk, fresh earth and spiced apple emerge in time.
A crisp and refreshing rosé with natural lively acidity, strawberry, sweet red fruits, a tang of grapefruit and dusted with wild herbs and spices – this has tension and a juicy palate which makes it a great food wine or a wine to enjoy on a hot summer’s day.
Whole bunch pressed with a short period of skin contact in
the press. Wild fermented in old barrels with full solids. No
additions apart from a very small amount of sulphur dioxide
2017 Vintage in Coldstream was mild, steady and relatively
drawn out. A cool, wet Spring led to delayed budburst and
flowering, pushing harvest out later than recent years to more tradition timings. This long and steady ripening produced wines with wonderful elegance and poise across all varieties, each displaying great range of aroma and flavour. A truly rare and stunning vintage for Warramunda, for Coldstream and for the Yarra Valley.
