We’re approaching the end of the year with a sense of satisfaction and contentment now that many major projects have come to fruition.
If you’ve been down to the Estate in recent times you’ll have seen the cellar door is bustling and we now offer new Gourmet Platters & Cheese Boards. We have also just released the 2014 Viognier that is only available through Cellar Door and our online store.
Our Debut Vintage, 2013 and some 2014 wines are available, filling our glasses and making their way into car boots.
This time of year is stunning in Coldstream, actually there aren’t any seasons we don’t like but late spring/early summer is an exciting time of year.
We have had a wonderful spring – minus some devastating windstorms, But luckily flowering had already occurred and the fruit was unharmed the only harm the estate saw was one of our trees in the driveway snapped. It is starting to dry out now and the forecast for summer is average temperatures and average rainfall. Fruit-set has commenced through the entire vineyard and with trepidation we wait for next year and the 2017 harvest!
We’re also busy with our final wire lift in preparation for our first trim, this involves the team walking every row lifting a wire up to hold the canopy nice and close together and ensuring any lose shoots are safely tucked away from the trimmer so we are only taking off the tips.
