A crisp, fresh and complex wine, the 2016 Warramunda Estate Marsanne is a real treat for anyone who loves to discover new flavours.
A versatile wine, this marsanne partners beautifully with a range of different foods such as aromatic pork and chicken dishes, Asian herbs and spices and is a fantastic match with fish and shellfish.
The lively acidity gives the wine length and persistence on the palate, complemented by flavours of honeycomb, brioche, savoury spice and hazelnut which round out the middle of the wine.
The wine will continue to develop over the next 15 years, becoming richer over time.
Natural fermentation in barrel with indigenous yeast at cool temperatures takes place over three months. A small selection of the wine underwent partial malo-lactic fermentation in order to build layers of texture and complexity.
Maturation took place over six months on gross lees in mostly two-year old French oak barrels with only the best barrels selected for the final blend.Variety: Marsanne Clone: North East Victoria Selection Year Planted: 2000
