Warramunda Estate Syrah 2017
The 2017 Warramunda Estate Syrah is a plush, sleek and spicy wine which will evolve with grace over time.
Shimmering red fruit and perfumed rose, as well as classic Syrah pepper and spice, with subtle earthy bramble.
The palate structure is silky, tight and fine, with just enough juicy suppleness for drinking now, although the savoury backbone provided by the whole bunches, and the natural acid suggest this wine has its best years ahead.
Two separate parcels were selectively hand-picked from the North facing middle section of the Estate. All winemaking decisions were focused on preserving freshness and detail. Exploring the glorious aromatics of Bests Old Clone Syrah. The final blend consisted of 75% WBF and 25% whole berry ferment.
Syrah at Warramunda was planted in 2007 on the gentle north-facing slope of the Estate. Bests Old Block clone was selected to accentuate the hallmarks of this great Coldstream vineyard; fragrant fruit, earthy spice and the silkiest of tannins.
